The Silver Surfer. My most detailed linoprint so far! Because I’m comic book nerd from way back, I started it on Jack “The King” Kirby’s birthday. I tried to do his patented “Kirby Crackle” as the border, but it was harder than it looked. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. The black and blue look really nice, but the gold with black just makes it look like the light is messed up. I’m still trying to get the ink to be on all the right places, but I’m still learning. So fun! #linocut #lino #linoprint #silversurfer #marvelcomics #blackandblue #comicbooks #comicbookart

Here’s what I did for the #inktober52 prompt, Spooky. Nothing like steps going down to a dark basement to conjure spookiness. I’ve been doing so much linoprinting lately that it felt good to draw a whole mess of lines. I drew this in landscape orientation, but I think it might look better in portrait. 🤷‍♂️ #inktober #inktober52spooky #graypaper #spooky #basementsteps #art #drawing #inkdrawing #watchyourstep

Here is the print I made for the #inktober52 prompt, Golden. I struggled with this prompt. A lot. I was super excited to use my gold printing ink. Turns out that stuff is goopy as hell. It stuck to the lino so it looked bad on white or black. It was easier to paint with than print with, so I used black ink on white paper and painted in the gold. I also stabbed myself while carving the lino. It was bound to happen though. 😜 #inktober #inktober52golden #linocut #linoprint #linoprinting #goldink #bloodonthelino #silhouette
